Why is it important?

An objective measure of health is important for being able to assess the severity of conditions and to measure the effect of interventions. 

Why are sleep periods so important?

During the day, we are usually active and the activity changes from day to day. Sleep periods are the most important periods for recovering surplus energy and building up after strains, whether they are physical, mental, cognitive, or from illness.

How are the calculations done?

Throughout the entire measurement period, the raw data from the sensor is studied. When the sensor does not have good contact, due to movement or other factors, this is detected and the collected data is excluded from the analysis. Removing such noise from the measurements is crucial for the quality of the data and thus the analysis.

Each minute in the measurement period is compared with reference values from our database. The reference values originate from data of many thousands of people who have used Overskudd over the last 10 years. The references describe data for users from 10 to 80 years old. They contain data from severely ill patients in hospitals, Olympic champions sleeping, and most everything between these frames.

Is my score any good?

The Health Evolution score varies significantly. It can be under 10 for users who are in poor condition, who are under great strain from illness, alcohol, obesity, etc. Ordinary people who are in normally good shape often have a score of 20 and above. Top athletes usually have a score over 100.

If you are in the lower end of the scale, it is wise to choose from available measures to create improvement. This can have great significance for health.
